The 1956 Buick Centurion has plenty of reasons to brag about as far as design goes. In 2002, Nissan started offering rear-view cameras globally in the Primera and the Infiniti Q45. Toyota offered one in the Soarer from 1991 to 1997, but it was restricted to the Japanese market. It remained an experiment yet again, and it took almost 20 more years until a production car with a rear-view camera became available. The backup camera made a comeback only 16 years later when Volvo introduced the Experimental Safety Car in 1972. That was most likely because connecting the camera to the TV would have resulted in a messy cabling system that would have taken a lot of space behind the dash, under the center console, and even in the trunk. Word has it, there was no proof at the time that the rear-view camera was actually functional, but the idea was nevertheless ahead of its time. The then-groundbreaking system was created by auto designer Chuck Jordan. It comprised a television camera mounted atop the V-shaped trunk and a small TV in an oval-shaped section in the center of the really sleek dashboard. The system was very similar to the backup camera layout we know today, but the technology was obviously crude compared to what we now find in modern cars. The Centurion debuted the world's first rear-view camera. But there's one innovative feature that was forgotten as years passed by. The wing-type fenders and the two-tone paint are only two of the features that trickled into production models from Chevrolet and Buick. The Centurion concept was ahead of its time, and eventually inspired many GM cars launched in the late 1950s. It also boasted the largest, completely transparent bubble roof developed until then. It had buckets seats before they were a feature and incorporate many aviation-inspired cues inside the cabin. Developed for the 1956 General Motors Motorama, the Buick Centurion debuted an impressive number of features back in the day.

March can be kind of sticky, but if you do go in December, bring something warm because it might be a bit chilly (but this is not always the case). Here is a common rule of thumb: go to amusement parks in December to skip out on the lines. Busch Gardens is amazing, and is the better version of animal kingdom! 1 day should be sufficient for seeing the whole park, but 2 days might also be needed depending on the time of the year (the lines might be longer). However, the zoo is not concentrated in one area, it is spread out so that the animals they are exhibiting matches the theme of the area you are in. While you may wait a few minutes more, there are way less people on the rides! Also, the zoo is fantastic! I usually don't like zoos because of the smells, but they have a glassed in zoo which allows you to see the animals in their natural habitats, instead of in a cage. I love Busch Gardens! They make you feel like you are travelling all over the world! The shows are fantastic and a a must-see. Apart from the above, another great visit to Busch! The ride has been changed recently to remove part of the ride (the best part!), I would suggest the remaining ride just isn't worth queueing for. The second disappointment was Rhino Rally. No matter, we thought, we'll eat in the park - what a terrible decision! The breakfast menu was minuscule (and not particularly appetising), they had no coffee and seemed ill prepared for people to be visiting them. The car park is now enclosed, so it is no longer possible to do so without a long walk (not possible with small children and grand-parents in tow). On previous visits, we've arrived early and walked across the car park to visit one of the fast food restaurants for breakfast. The latest, Cheetah Hunt, is a fine addition, but if you are riding the front seat, watch out for the midges! Our visit was let down by two things. In my opinion its coasters are significantly better than the ones in Orlando. Whenever we visit Orlando, we always add a trip to Tampa to visit Busch Gardens. My son was not tall enough for 3 of the rides, and when we got to the Congo, they had shut down the fast pass lane!!! Oh and btw, they SOLD OUT of the Unlimited Quick Queue Tickets that day so you can imagine how many people were in the lines. We paid $82 to get in the park only to realize that our kids would get to ride very little.80 minute wait on most all attractions! Ultimately, because they sell the fast passes!!!! So, we purchased the Quick Queue Tickets for $34.99 (10 fast passes to major attractions).was never once informed of the rides included or height restrictions. We didn't purchase them upon entry, but soon realized you really have no choice. If you purchase the unlimited ticket, it allows you to fast pass most all rides, or they have a ticket, which allows you to fast pass 10 major attractions. No anymore! Please be aware that Busch Gardens now sells, at of course at an additional cost, Quick Queue Tickets. We have been going to the Orlando/Tampa area for years, and up until this year, Busch Gardens was the favorite. The contributions of the respective parties need not be equal or of the same character, but there must be some contribution by each co-adventurer of something promotive of the business enterprise. There must be a contribution by the parties to a common undertaking to constitute a joint venture as well as a community of interest and some control over the subject matter or property right of the contract. However, it cannot be emphasized too strongly that a written agreement is far safer and more efficient. Usually, only one of these elements alone will not result in a judicially recognized joint venture.Ī contract (understanding) between the parties is necessary for a joint venture but need not be reduced to a formal written or even oral formal agreement it might be inferred from the facts, circumstances, and conduct of the parties. a right to joint control and management of the assets used in the enterprise and.a right of each member to direct and govern the policy of conduct of the other members.a community of interest in the purpose of the joint association. In most jurisdictions, the critical elements of a joint venture normally are: In that respect, the intentions of the parties and the terms of the understanding are what determine the decision as to whether the joint venture exists, hence the need for a clear and concise written agreement for any parties seeking to engage in this type of business. Whether a joint venture exists is a question of fact to be decided according to the facts and circumstances of each case. It is therefore vital for any person considering a joint venture to study the various aspects of this unique approach to business.Ī joint venture is an association of two or more persons based on written or oral contract who combine their assets, property, knowledge, skills, experience, time or other resources in pursuit of a particular project or undertaking, usually agreeing to share the profits and the losses and each having some degree of control over the venture.ĭue to the wide variety of projects that a joint venture can be created to accomplish, a constant issue is whether a venture is a joint venture, a full partnership, or some other type of business. Too often parties seek to rely on verbal understandings or slide into a joint venture due to circumstances without realizing the significant risks involved…such as the unlimited liability that may arise from acts of the joint venture that are not even approved by all joint venturers! If one needs to team up with another person or entity but only for a particular task or project, and one already has a limited liability entity to be one of the “joint venturers,” then it may make sense to create a joint venture agreement which describes the rights and duties of the parties. This fact makes such a structure appropriate in various types of business ventures. However, limited liability entities can be members of a joint venture, thus allowing some form of limited liability. Note that partnerships and this variation of a partnership, a joint venture, do not necessarily have limited liability. See our article on Business Start Ups While Protecting Your Assets. The reader should first review the contents of our articles on Limited Liability Entities and Contracts before reading further.Ī constant theme in business ventures is the effort to limit the risk. If the business is directed at and limited to a particular finite task, however, that same partnership is considered a “joint venture” and is the topic of this article. Typical partnerships usually engage in continuous business and comprise two or more persons or entities combining to engage in that business. While most common in construction projects, the business structure termed a “joint venture” is a creation which is actually nothing more than a partnership created for a single project or undertaking which normally lasts only so long as the project lasts. Radioluminescent paint is a self-luminous paint that consists of a small amount of a radioactive isotope (radionuclide) mixed with a radioluminescent phosphor chemical.
